Jacqulon “Jackie” Mobley Obituary

Jacqulon “Jackie” Gregory Mobley, 77, beloved wife of William “Doodle” Mobley, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service to celebrate Jackie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Chester First Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary.

Born November 18, 1946 in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Lucius Tillman Gregory and Dorothy Dalton Gregory. Jackie dedicated her life to her family and community.

Jackie attended Chester High School and had a fulfilling career as a receiving clerk at Bilo and previously at Springs Industries before her well-deserved retirement. Jackie made friends and influenced the lives of those with whom she worked and worshiped. She was a faithful member of the First Church of Nazarene, finding solace and strength in her faith.  She served her Lord as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, youth worker, children’s worker, Work and Witness team member and Board member.  Her greatest prayer was that all would know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Jackie cherished her role as a mother to Jimbo Mobley (Tammy), Bobby Mobley (Laurie), Steven Laughlin (Kerry), and Chris Mobley (Maggie). Her love extended to her grandchildren, Lee Welch, Rebecca Welch (John), Vicki Blackmon (Daniel), Kenny Mobley (Meredith), Candace Boyd (Tony), Cody Mobley (Mallory), Forrest Mobley, Keoma Lightner, Matthew Hunter, Ty Mobley and Abby Mobley. She was also blessed with 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, leaving a legacy of love and warmth.

Survived by siblings, Randy Gregory (Diane), Jack Gregory (Beth), Wayne Gregory (Sue), and Patsy Hudson (Kenneth), Jackie found joy in family bonds.

A special mention also goes to her dear friends, Linda Grantham and Karen Reid.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy "Sissy" Mobley.

Jackie’s compassionate nature, love for travel, fascination with lighthouses, and dedication to caring for others will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal light of the love she shared with her family and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of the MUSC Chester Regional Nursing Center and the Agape Care, South Carolina, Hospice team.

Memorials may be made to The Chester First Church of The Nazarene, 182 Pinckney St, Chester, SC 29706.
