Welcome to the memorial page for

Anthony F. Tursi

October 31, 2017 ~ October 26, 2017

Anthony F. Tursi of Cinnaminson passed away at his home Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017. He was 79.

Determined, driven, and loyal, Mr. Tursi lived his life to the fullest. After his discharge as a Sgt. from the Marine Corps, he began his long entrepreneurial career.

Beginning with Gerber Foods, Archway Cookies, and Pepperidge Farms, Anthony found his love of food service. In 1969, Anthony bought his first Dunkin' Donuts working towards multiple units. His love of food and hospitality led him to his first restaurant, Bank Street Five.

After successfully owning and operating a supermarket, Italian bread manufacturer, and another restaurant, Anthony found a new joy in caring for his grandchildren in retirement. Mr. Tursi also loved to entertain his family and friends at his homes in Cinnaminson and Ventnor. The door was always open and the food was plenty.

Anthony's greatest loves were his girls; his wife of 57 years, Angela, and his daughters, Tina, Maria and Angela, or as he referred to them as "Morning, Noon, and Night." He was a devoted and an amazing husband and father. His five grandsons and granddaughter were his greatest sources of pride. He spent many days with his grandchildren, sharing stories and new adventures. Anthony, Angelo, Mario, Alec, Samantha, Andrew, and his newest granddaughter, Laura, brought him joy every day.

As he journeyed through every step of life, from childhood throughout his career, Anthony developed many great friendships. Up through his last days, he would call his friends to check in on them.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Carbonaro Tursi; his daughters, Tina and her husband, Gary Holmes of Asheville, N.C., Maria Lamberto of Delran, and Angela and her husband, Randy Hamilton of Cinnaminson; and his beloved grandchildren, Anthony and his fiance', Laura Hancq, Angelo and Mario Lamberto, Alec, Samantha, and Andrew Hamilton.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, 103 Fourth St. Riverton, followed by his funeral Mass at 11 am. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Anthony's compassion for others, please offer your donations to St Vincent de Paul Society, 200 Windsor Ave, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
