H. Dale Miller, 63, of Silverstreet, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Greenwood, SC. Born on August 8, 1949 in Newberry, he was the son of Varie Sanders Miller Seay and the late Smith Harold Miller. Dale grew up in West Columbia graduating from Brookland Cayce High School. He moved to the Hollywood section of Saluda living there until his marriage in 2007 when he relocated to Silverstreet. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a self-employed carpenter in construction and remodeling. Dale especially loved hunting, fishing and going to the mountains. He was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church in West Columbia.

In addition to his mother of Saluda, Dale is survived by his wife, Dell Dorroh Miller; stepson, Christopher D. Shealy; sisters, Sonja (Harry) Huggins of Hemingway; Barbara Miller of Newberry, Cheryl (Murvis) Mims of Turbeville, Janet (Thomas) Kurgan of Milwaukee, WI and Gayle Miller of Gilbert; and brothers, Glenn C. (Patricia) Miller of Spartanburg and Don L. Miller of Lexington. He was predeceased by his father and his step-father, Virley Haston "Bub" Seay.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Harry Crout and Rev. Larry Hays. Interment with military honors will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood, SC.

The family will be at the home of Sallie Peebles, 7972 Belfast Rd, Newberry and will receive friends from 5:30 till 7:30 PM on Saturday, October 20, at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646. Active pallbearers will be Larry Kyser, James Nichols, Murvis Mims, Philip Sanders, and Mike Herlong.
