Betty Kirby Vaughn

Betty Kirby Vaughn, 88, former resident of Laurelwood and wife of the late Charles Willis "Charlie" Vaughn, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, at NHC in Laurens.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Ruth Heaton Kirby. A devoted wife and mother, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by: her sons, Mike Vaughn and wife Dot of Greenville and Mark Vaughn and wife Karen of North Charleston; a brother David Kirby of Americus, GA; a daughter-in-law, Carol Moody Vaughn of Raleigh, NC; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Tony Vaughn; two sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, May 16, 2016, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Rickey Letson and Dr. Bev. Kennedy.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary on Sunday, May 15, 2016, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Laurens, 300 West Main St., Laurens, SC 29360.
