Carolyn (Finley) Jones

Carolyn Finley Jones, 87, passed away May 11, 2022.

A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late W. Erskine and Ruth Balentine Finley, she was a retired employee of Baler Equipment, Inc., and a member of Greer First Baptist Church.  She was a well-known quilter and instructor of quilting, a member of the Peach Patchers Quilt Guild of Greer and a charter member of Foothills Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Greenville, and former Director of the Martha Curtis Quilting Retreat at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina for 16 years attracting quilters from the entire country.

Surviving are three sons, David Jones (Donna) of Augusta, Georgia, Greg Jones (Stephanie) of Greer, and Patrick Jones (Kathy Jaques) of Augusta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Alan Jones, Blake Jones, William Jones, Crystal Jones, Jonathan Jones, Madison Jones, and Christopher Jones; and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Shawn Jones and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Pearl Finley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Dr. Doug Mize with webcasting available at www.thewoodmortuary.com.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Alan Jones, Blake Jones, William Jones, Jonathan Jones, Christopher Jones, and Patrick Jones. Honorary escorts will be the members of Peach Patchers Quilt Guild and Foothills Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

Visitation will be held 9:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Stephanie Jones.
