Mr. Charles R. “Snooks” Cauthen, 79, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born May 31, 1941 in Lancaster, a son of the late H. Roger Cauthen and Ruby Lloyd Sistare Cauthen. He was a member of Springdell Baptist Church. Snooks loved his fur babies. He never met a stranger and loved to sit around and talk with anyone that would listen. A retired funeral director, Snooks and his family owned and operated Cauthen Funeral Home of Lancaster, Kershaw and Rock Hill for over fifty years.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cauthen will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Springdell Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman and Rev. Dr. Micah Lane officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Snooks is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Sherri Lane Cauthen; a daughter, Danya and Dr. Trey Knight of Lancaster; a brother, Hazel Cauthen and his wife Kay of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Justin and Natalie Knight, Natalie Maxine Knight, Adam Knight and Pressley Knight; and one great grandchild, Maxie Knight.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the fellowship hall of Springdell Baptist Church and other times at 3718 Travertine Drive, Lancaster.
