Clyde "Tom" Rampey Jr., CFSP Obituary
Clyde Thomas “Tom” Rampey, Jr., 75, passed away February 3, 2023.
A native of Greenwood County; a son of the late Clyde Thomas and Lois Elizabeth Walker Rampey; he was a graduate of Union High School; attended University of South Carolina and Lees-McRae College and retired employee of The Wood Mortuary, Inc. after 41 years of service. He was a past President of the South Carolina Funeral Directors Association; a Mason and a member of Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 54 years, Alice Wingo Rampey; two sons, Clyde T. “Tee” Rampey, III (Erin) of Greer and Jason Elliott Rampey (Wendy) of Greenville; one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Williams of Greer; one brother, John W. Rampey (Anne) of Murphy, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Taylor Rampey, Shelby Williams Holden (Michael), Macey Lyn Williams, Carter Williams, Sam Rampey, Lucas Rampey, Braeden Rampey, Caitlin Henne (Tara) and Kelsey Henne (Kyle Kolakoski) and one great-granddaughter, Landry Jean Holden.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Bud Griffith and Rev. Keith Kelly and Mr. Mike McDaniel. Webcasting will be available at www.thewoodmortuary.com. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Mark McLemore, Gene Hall, Jeff White, Mike Gambrell, Bob Kemp, and Darryl King. Honorary escorts will be members of SCFDA and employees of The Wood Mortuary. The family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greer Community Ministries, Post Office Box 1373, Greer, SC 29652.
