Dale R. Brockman

Dale R. Brockman, age 69, of Vincennes, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014. His parents, Maxine and E.W. Brockman preceded him in death. Dale was married to Becky (McClure) Brockman for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; his daughter, Jayne Brockman of Carmel, IN; his son Roger Brockman and his wife, Nikki, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and their children, Dylan and Riley; sisters, Jackie Smith and her husband Joel of Vincennes, and Billie Wood of Nevada; two aunts, LaVaughn DeHon and Ethelmae Walker, both of Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was the owner of Brockman & Son Funeral Homes, in Vincennes and Wheatland, and an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Dale was an avid golfer, and duplicate bridge player. He coached church league basketball and YMCA football for many years. Dale was a member of Vincennes Masonic Lodge #1, F&AM, the Order of the Eastern Star, past President of Vincennes Kiwanis, the Vincennes Police Merit Board, and the Old Town Players, where he also acted in and directed various plays. He also served as a past State Chaplin for the Indiana Jaycees.

Memorial services for Dale will be conducted at St. John's United Church of Christ on Saturday, August 30th at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10:00 am until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in Dale's honor, can be made to Old Town Players, the Knox County Library, Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
