Donald Bundy Greene

Mr. Donald Bundy Greene, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Lakewood Baptist Church with Reverends Jerry Devinney and Gerald Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 21, 2014, from 5-7:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

A native of Rock Hill, SC, Mr. Greene was the son of the late Toy Howard Greene and Ruby Faulkenberry Greene. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served during World War II in Iwo Jima and Guadual Canal. He joined his father, Toy Greene in the family business in 1954 and remained an active part of Greene Funeral Home until his declining health in 2013. Mr. Greene was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and taking care of all animals. He especially enjoyed golf, visiting tractor shows and auctions. Mr. Greene was a wonderful storyteller and always met a friend or made a new friend wherever he went.

Mr. Greene is survived by his loving wife, Debra Jo Player Greene; his children, Steven F. Greene (Rebekah), Donna Greene Weiner (Norman), Toy Greene (Dana), Denise Greene Fudge (Chris), David Blackwelder (Libby), Sid Blackwelder (Susan), SteveBlackwelder, Kathy Jo Waldrop (Joe), Alice Lane (Richard), Jan Moss (Derick), Christopher Strikeleather; his sister, Sue Greene Walters, sister-in-law, Doris Greene, 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, AliceBlackwelder Greene and his brother, Howard F. "Buddy" Greene, Sr.
