WOODRUFF- Ethel Prather Lanford,86, of 905 Waddell Road passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Rolling Green Village.
A native of Cross Anchor ( Union County), she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Ethel Crook Prather and the widow of Robert Edwin Lanford Sr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff where she was also a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lanford was a retired insurance agent who with her husband owned and operated R. Edwin Lanford Agency, representing The Travelers Insurance Group. She was also a former owner along side her husband in operating Lanford-Boyter Mortuary for many years and Lanford Funeral Home, which is now operating as Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
Surviving are one daughter, Jan Lanford Hagins and her husband, Bruce of Woodruff; three sons, Robert Edwin Lanford Jr. (Bob) and his wife Julie of Landrum, Stephen Prather (Steve) Lanford of Greer and Mark Jeffrey Lanford of Woodruff; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lanford was pre-deceased by two sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 02, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. James Shealy. Interment will follow in Greenpond Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. tonight, Friday, November 01, 2013 at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stephen Lanford, Brannon Hagins, Trey Lanford, Clay Lanford, Barry Lanford, Jason Queen and Eric Tonnsen.

The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Bruce Hagins, 861 Edwin Lanford Road, Woodruff.
