Mrs. Ethel Mae Smith, 96, passed away, Monday, February 16, 2015. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Noah H. and Ella Atkinson Burkett. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville and was a homemaker.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley S. Shealy; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, J.T. Smith, sons, Wyman and Linward Smith, son-in-law, David F. Shealy, and a granddaughter, Debbie Shealy.
Services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted 3:30 p.m., Wednesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel with her grandchildren, Beverly Taylor and Rev. Brian Peake officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
