Fonda Wrenn Stuhr, 77, of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, wife of W. Sandy Stuhr, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2015, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt Street. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road.

Fonda was born February 7, 1938, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lewis James Wrenn and Yonnie Buchanan Wrenn. She and Sandy were residents of Hobcaw Point for 31 years before moving to Sullivan’s Island. She studied as an x-ray technician and worked at the Medical University of South Carolina prior to raising her four children. As someone who dearly loved the Lowcountry, Fonda enjoyed being at the beach, surf fishing, or being in the boat with her husband Sandy and her children.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, W. Sandy Stuhr of Sullivan’s Island; her children, W. Sandy Stuhr, Jr. and his wife, Lynne of Lincolnville, SC, Timothy W. Stuhr and his wife, Pam of Mount Pleasant, SC, Catherine L. Stuhr and her husband, Alan Toporek of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Carol S. Kays and her husband, Dr. Chuck Kays of Wilmington, NC; her grandchildren, Trey Stuhr, Courtney Stuhr, Joshua Stuhr, Justin Stuhr, Andrew McKellar, Alex McKellar, Grace Kays, and Lilly Kays; her three great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; and her aunt, Neta B. Belcher of Ocala, FL.
