Jacqueline "Jackie" T. Owens

Jacqueline "Jackie" Owens, 78, of Charleston, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Jackie was a longtime hairdresser in Charleston, having owned 2 salons before becoming the sole operator of Jackie's Hair Salon at the Canterbury House in Charleston, retiring after serving there over 25 years.

Since 2011, Jackie was the hairdresser for James A. McAlister Funeral Home in Charleston. The funeral home took great pride in the amazing work she did for the families she served, and her reputation was such that other firms in town, including J. Henry Stuhr, took advantage of her great hairdressing skills in service to their families.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 PM Friday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. A Graveside service and committal will take place at 4:00 PM at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue, Charleston.
