James "Tony" Coleman Obituary

James Anthony "Tony" Coleman, 66, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ryan Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, the day of the service, at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Eddie Lee, Keith Capps, Tony Hair, Wesley Fogle, Ryan Neill, and Robert English.

Tony was born in Charleston, SC, a son of the late James C. Coleman and Peggy Patterson Coleman. He was a co-owner and operator of Carolina Towing, and a member of the Towing & Recovery Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time in the low country, and spending time on the farm raising animals with his granddaughter Eleanor, but his greatest joy in life was spending every day with his grandchildren, who better knew him as "Gan Gan." Tony lived life to the fullest every day and was a great friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him. He had a tough shell, but a givers heart.

Tony is survived by his two daughters, Lauren M. Coleman (Kenan Felkel) and Christina Cole Kazmierski (Janek); grandchildren, Eleanor Bilton (father, Tyler Bilton), James Brice Felkel, Anja Mei Kazmierski, and Gabriel Lee Gonzalez; siblings, Jerry Coleman (Kathy), Nicky Neill (Bill), Sandy Furtick, and Rodger Coleman; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Coleman and Phyllis Coleman.

Memorials may be sent to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
