North Augusta, S.C.
Jane P. GrinsteadFuneral Services for Mrs. Jane P. Grinstead, 88, of Village Parkway, a precious, Godly Lady, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday Evening, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Rev. Jerry T. Matthews, Rev. Steve Davis and Dr. Sandra Kennedy officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Grinstead was born to John Corley and Ola McAuliffe Pound, on May 31, 1924 in Augusta, having made North Augusta her home for the past 54 years. She leaves behind a legacy of men, women and children whom she taught how to live, whether in the Sunday School Room, on the piano bench or by example in her everyday life. Her love of Jesus spilled over to everyone she met; encouraging and uplifting all who were blessed to know her. Jane was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, taught Sunday School for over 70 years and piano for 50 years. In addition, her legacy extended as she served as Minister of Music in four area churches. For the past 26 years, she could be found welcoming visitors at Posey Funeral Directors during visiting hours, where she comforted mourning families and friends. She also often sang or played during funeral service. Throughout her life, Jane used her extraordinary voice to sing, beginning in her teens with her own live radio show called "The Jane and Alice Show," featuring sacred duets with her friend Alice Adams. Mrs. Grinstead was preceded in death by her husband, Dellos D. Grinstead and her sister, Libby Brink.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Corliss and Mickey Derrick, and Cathy and Tim Harrington, all of North Augusta; a granddaughter and her husband, Ashley and Patrick Richards, North Augusta; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Richards; a sister, Edna Herring, Columbia, SC; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Baynham, Glenn Parker, Neil Fleeman, Jerry Glisson, Richard Glisson, David Todd, Rusty Anderson and Patrick Jackson.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday Evening from 5 until 7.
Memorials may be made to the True North Church Building Fund, 1297 West Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841. The family expresses appreciation to the staff of National Health Care for their loving kindness in caring for their mother.
