Jimmy Leo Jones

Jimmy Leo Jones, age 80, passed away September 24, 2015 at his residence in the mountains.

Mr. Jones was born in Conway, SC the son of Johnny Leo Jones and Cecil King Jones. He was a member of Brown Swamp UMC for 65 years and while at his mountain home he attended Mt Zion UMC. He was devoted to his wife of sixty years, children and grandchildren. Jimmy’s favorite hobby was working in the yard at the mountain home and watching NASCAR racing. Mr. Jones served fourteen years in the National Guard. He retired as a self-employed independent franchise distributor for Pepperidge Farm Distributor of Bakery Products. After retirement he worked part-time for several years as a security guard at Ocean Lakes Campground until buying a retirement home in Clyde, NC where he enjoyed life to the end!! In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Buck Jones.

Survivors include: his wife, Joyce Moore Jones; one son, Jim Jones, Jr. (Lana); one daughter, Jennifer Jones Parker (Bruce) both of Conway; two grandsons, Duncan Parker of Conway and Zach Jones of Conway and Clemson; one granddaughter, Chloe Jones of Conway and Clemson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Sunday at Brown Swamp United Methodist Church with Rev. Jo Anna Fallaw and Rev. Kirk Lawton officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Brown Swamp United Methodist Church, 4725 Hwy 501 W., Conway, SC 29526.
