John Camp Arant, 55, of Summerville, South Carolina, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016. His Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr Northwoods Chapel at 11:00 a.m. where the family will receive friends one hour prior.
John was born December 3, 1960, in Florence, South Carolina, son of the late Joseph Benjamin Arant and Margaret Lydia Hall Arant. He was a graduate of Hartsville High School and attained the rank of Eagle Scout along with the First Degree in the Order of the Arrow. John graduated from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science and successfully passed the National Board Examination for funeral directors and embalmers. His career spanned more than 35 years in funeral service as a professional with the past 25 years associated with J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. He was a member of the Cremation Association of North America.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Arant of Aiken, SC and Lauren Ashley Arant of Hartsville, SC; and his cousin, Jeff Laffidy.
