John Brunson (Jack) Parks, Jr., 85, widower of Jo Ann Bowen Parks, of Summerville, SC, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at a Charleston hospital.

Funeral services will be held at Parks Funeral Home Chapel on Monday morning, March 21, 2016 at 11 o'clock. Entombment will follow at Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5-8 o'clock. Flowers will be accepted.

Jack was born August 25, 1930 in Charleston, SC, a son of John B. Parks, Sr. and Pauline Russell Parks. He graduated from Summerville High School and Cincinnati College of Embalming. He was a funeral director and owner of Parks Funeral Home. He was Presbyterian, a Mason, a member of the SC Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and started Parks Field Baseball. Jack loved his family, hunting and fishing and especially his Labrador Retrievers.

Survivors include his two sons, John B. (Johnny) Parks, III (Donna), James (Bo) Parks; two daughters, Terralyn (Terry) P. Mallard (Herbert), Paula P. Wicker (Michael), all of Summerville, SC; eight grandchildren, Jenny Thomas, Courtney Rhodes, Jackie Leming (Jason), Sara Parks, J. Clint Parks, Jamie Parks, Jordan Wicker, Hannah Parks; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Carson, Maddie, John, Jackson and Emma.
