Margaret Price Gillespie

Margaret Price Gillespie, 88, of 207 West Abbey Street, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Born in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late S. Clayton and Florine J. Price. She was a 1943 graduate of Seneca High School and Draughon’s Business College. She was a member of Seneca Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class, past member of the Chancel choir and the J.O.Y Singers. She was best known for her musical talent, especially her piano playing.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles W. Gillespie of the home; son, Charles W. (Chuck) Gillespie, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Summerville, SC; daughter, Anne G. Mize and husband, Eddie of Seneca; brother, Clayton Price, Jr. and wife, Kay of Franklin, TN; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special “granddog”, Mattie Rose.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Price Powell.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Monday, May 11, 2015 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.
