Roger Dale Cullipher

Roger Dale Cullipher, 69, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Carolinas Hospital System of Marion after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2014 at Richardson Funeral Home of Marion, burial will follow at Elliott Cemetery in Horry County. The family received friends Friday, January 23, from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.

Mr. Cullipher was born in Mullins, a son of the late Lillie Bell Lewis Cullipher and Willie Augusta Cullipher. He was also predeceased by brothers, Wilbur and Stanley Cullipher and sister Elouise Sawyer. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. Mr. Cullipher received an Associate’s Degree from Gupton -Jones Mortuary School. He would later serve an apprenticeship at Waters-Powell Funeral Home before working for Goldfinch Funeral Home in Conway and then serving as manager of Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. Mr. Cullipher was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as organist for 12 years.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Elliott Cullipher (Associate with CVS Inc.) of the home; son, Chris Cullipher of Marion, SC; brothers, James T. Cullipher (Norma) of Mullins, SC and Larry Cullipher (Frances) of Dillon, SC; and a sister, Mickey Brown of Marion, SC.
