Royce E. Watson

Royce E. Watson, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Royce was born September 30, 1942 in Britton's Neck, a son of Christine Brown Watson and the late Jake Austin Watson.

Royce was owner of Myrtle Builders Inc. and Palmetto Shores Marina. He was also co-creator and MC of the Intracoastal Christmas Regatta. He was past president of the Touchdown Club and was a Dixie Youth coach. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles with his biker friends and all sports. Everybody who knew Royce loved and admired him, you always knew where you stood with him. He always had a smile on his face and a hug to give.

In addition to his mother, Ms. Christine, he is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Susie Watson; four children, Chris Watson (Paige) and their children, Jake and Camryn Watson of Chapin, Lichelle Coker (Derrick) and their children, Cohen and Baylee Coker of Scranton, Tara Watson (Dexter Garris) and their children, Sarah Emma, Casey and Ricky Garris of Scranton and Hope Cauthen (Kim) and their children, Carolina "Rugrat" and Rivers Cauthen of Pawleys Island: ten siblings, Ralph S. Watson (Jeanette), Geraldine Watson Hankins, Anne Watson Dusenbury, Joe A. Watson (Diane), James P. Watson, Camilla Watson Lovell (Mike), Gwen Watson James (Johnny), Barry A. Watson (Carol), Mitchel B. Watson (Jerry) and Wayne R. Watson (Sandra); many nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Frank Boulineau and his wife Elizabeth.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Watson Funeral Services from 6pm until 8pm.

Funeral Services will be held 1pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel with Barry A. Watson and Rev. Luford Pope officiating.

Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Intracoastal Christmas Regatta.
