F. Malcolm Walls

F. Malcolm Walls, 82, of Greenville died Saturday, January 14, 2017. Born in Laurens, Malcolm was a son of the late William A. Walls Sr. and Margaret Towles Walls.

Malcolm recently retired from The Mackey Mortuary after 55 years of service. He dedicated his life assisting families in their time of need. At Mackey, he served as Vice-President and General Manager. He also served on The South Carolina State Board of Funeral Service and had served as its President. He was a member of the Sertoma Club of Greenville. He joined the club in 1965 and was a two time Honor Club President; Charter Member of the Executive Sertoma Club of Greenville serving as President. He also served two terms as Governor of the Pioneer District of Sertoma. He was recognized as a Life Member of Sertoma and had been honored twice as Sertoma Regional Sertoman of the Year. He was member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his sons, Jeffery A. Walls of Greenville and Frank J. Walls of Hickory, NC; sister, Amelia Walls Bird of Chesapeake, VA; brother, William A. Walls, Jr of Redding, CA; one granddaughter Jessica Walls of Hickory, NC and one great granddaughter, Layla.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at The Mackey Mortuary with Dr. Marshall Sargent officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Sertoma of South Carolina, 602 College Ave # 5, Clemson, SC 29631 or to a charity of one's choice.
